Moodle E-Learning Platform

The Moodle E-Learning Platform is an open-source Learning Management System (LMS) designed for distance learning. It can be used both to support traditional classroom teaching and to manage courses delivered entirely online. Through the E-Learning Course Catalogue, students can download teaching materials provided by lecturers to complement and support traditional learning activities.

Lecturers and students access the platform using their University credentials. For newly enrolled students, the platform will be accessible at least 5 days after the student ID number has been assigned.

For courses that allow self-enrolment, students may register independently; however, enrolment often requires an enrolment key, which is provided by the lecturer to students attending the course.

Moodle is:

  • An open-source platform, free of licensing and maintenance costs, developed and tested through the collaboration of leading universities worldwide.
  • Usable at a basic level as a repository for teaching materials (handouts, audio files, videos, notes, etc.).
  • Usable at a more advanced level, promoting greater lecturer–student interaction and emphasizing communication and collaborative learning.

With Moodle it is possible to:

  • Upload and share teaching materials.
  • Communicate through chat tools.
  • Create assignments and questionnaires.
  • Deliver live-streamed lectures.
  • Use collaborative tools such as wikis, glossaries, and more.
  • Complete exercises and assessment or self-assessment tests.
