Teaching tutors are students enrolled in Master’s Degree programs at the University who have been selected by a specific School committee to support Bachelor’s Degree students in learning certain specific subjects. 

In coordination with the reference teaching staff, teaching tutors organise:

• supplementary teaching activities
• group exercises
• support activities for individual study and specific topics

Who are peer tutors?

They are second- and third-year students of the Degree Program who, in collaboration with teaching tutors, help first- and second-year students by supporting them in their studies and providing information.

How to become a peer tutor?

Before the beginning of each semester, students receive an email indicating the procedures and deadlines for submitting applications. This experience is rewarded with a two-point bonus that increases the final degree mark. Beyond the bonus, peer tutoring is an important training experience that allows students to improve their communication skills and their ability to work in groups. Those who have carried out this service in the past have always been very satisfied with the experience. Students who have already served as peer tutors in previous years may repeat the experience; however, they will not receive any additional bonus points.

Peer tutoring is a form of learning based on interaction among students, aimed at encouraging the sharing of knowledge among peers.
The creation of a peer context promotes dialogue and discussion and offers a valid alternative to traditional lectures. This helps students feel part of a group and relate to others. This type of learning profoundly changes the role of the teacher, transforming it into that of a mediator who facilitates learning.

Faculty tutors contribute to ongoing guidance activities. In particular, they can support students in choosing activities related to their educational pathway, such as curriculum choice, free-choice activities, training activities and the final paper.
