What is TPV?

TPV stands for Practical Evaluative Training, namely the professional training activity that Psychology students are required to complete following the entry into force of the qualifying degree. These practical activities are intended to develop the skills related to “knowing how to act and how to be a psychologist”, which are an integral part of university education. These activities will be recognised for the purpose of obtaining the TPV ECTS credits required for the acquisition of the qualification to practise as a psychologist for graduates in LM-51, pursuant to art. 1, paragraph 3, of Law no. 163 of 08/11/2021.

Of these, the professional training activities of Practical Evaluative Training (TPV) in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme, 10 ECTS credits = 250 hours, consist of:

a) activities, carried out individually or in small groups, aimed at learning methods, tools and procedures relating to the applied contexts of psychology;

b) practical experiences, workshops, simulations, role playing, and project drafting activities, carried out individually or in small groups, concerning tools, methods and procedures aimed at developing the knowledge required to operate in the contexts in which psychologists work.

TPV attendance requirements

Each Practical Evaluative Training (TPV) activity requires mandatory attendance of 75% of the classroom hours; the tutor will verify compliance with the attendance requirement. Students who do not meet the attendance requirement for a given TPV activity must attend it again in full the following year.

TPV assessment

At the end of each TPV activity, students are required to provide feedback/a presentation on the activity carried out, which will be assessed by the tutor. Each tutor expresses a pass/fail assessment based both on the adequacy of the feedback/presentation and on compliance with the attendance requirement. If the pass assessment is not obtained, the trainee must repeat the activities for which they were not deemed suitable. 

The pass assessments will be recorded on two dates, after the activities have taken place, following the same procedures used for exams.

The feedback/presentation on the activity must be completed by the last recording session.
