Degree Program Quality

Quality Assurance

The Quality Assurance System for Degree Programs (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Programs) is aimed at the continuous improvement of the teaching provision and of the services provided to students.

Degree Programs are key actors in the University Quality Assurance System and contribute directly to the definition, implementation and monitoring of educational pathways.

The Degree Program Council (CCdS) is committed to developing and implementing a quality management system. Self-assessment activities are carried out by a Degree Programme Quality Group (GQ), officially established within the Degree Program. The group includes one administrative staff member from the Presidency Office, shared with other Degree Programs, one student representative and members of the teaching staff.
The President of the Degree Program coordinates the activities required by the SUA-CdS and reports the outcomes within the Degree Program, submitting them for discussion and approval, where applicable. For some of the sections included in the Quality area of the SUA, the Quality Group relies on information provided by various offices, such as the Presidency Office and the University Quality Assurance Committee (PQA), as well as information provided by the University Statistical Services Office.

 Quality Assurance for Degree Programs consists of the resources, behaviours and rules relating to the design, management and self-assessment of educational activities. Its aims are the sound design and continuous improvement of the educational offer, through carefully considered strategic choices and concrete monitoring activities.

Quality Assurance for the Degree Program concerns:

  • the design of learning objectives and study pathways, defined in collaboration with stakeholders through the Steering Committee;
  • the delivery of teaching activities, and the management of services and resources supporting students;
  • the monitoring of the results of the educational offer and the related self-assessment. These activities are entrusted to the Degree Program Review Group (GdR – CdS), which analyses available data and indicators to assess the performance of the programme, identify strengths and critical issues, and propose improvement actions. They are implemented through the Cyclical Review Report (RCC) and the analysis of, and commentary on, the Annual Monitoring Form (SMA).

The outcomes are shared with the Degree Program bodies and result in corrective and development actions, consistent with the University’s guidelines and strategic planning, contributing to the constant updating and overall quality of the educational offer.
